Betty Boop in Out Of The Inkwell (1938)

BOOP BOOP BA DOOP. Here's an "Out of The Inkwell" cartoon that didn't make your Animation history class; watch to see why not.

My favourite part of this cartoon, animation wise, is when Betty Boop mimes climbing the diving board and jumping into a pool. You can really feel her hit the water and slow down against the friction.

The smears in this cartoon are subtle and, if you key through it, you'll notice that a lot of Betty's movements have little bit of strobing on them to make her movements more readable. I also noticed some remenants of rubber hosing on her arms (check around 2:20 for an example(when she is scolding the black man for the second time)).

Anyways here some of my fav moments;
